Expertise and experience
Marijn has a broad experience in commercial dispute resolution via litigation and arbitration in areas such as liability law, commercial contracts and distribution law. He has specialist experience in complex questions relating to prescription law.
Background
Marijn received his Master of Laws degree from the Universiteit Gent (Ghent, Belgium) in 2007 and was awarded an LL.M in International Commercial Arbitration Law by Stockholm University (Stockholm, Sweden) in 2008. In the same year, he was admitted to the Brussels Bar. In 2011, he joined Lydian as an Associate from another independent Belgian law firm and was promoted to Senior Associate in 2015. He has participated in the ICC Institute Masterclass for Arbitrators.
Publications and speaking engagements
Marijn regularly publishes articles in his fields of expertise and recently co-authored a commentary on the Belgian Arbitration Act, which was published in Spring 2019.
He is also a frequent speaker at conferences and trainings on subjects as arbitration, presciption and general commercial law.
