Nik is a Senior Associate in our Commercial and Dispute Resolution practice and our Insurance & Reinsurance department.
Nik has strong expertise in cross-border commercial dispute and insurance litigation. He regularly handles large-scale insurance claims, professional and general liability cases involving intricate technical issues, contract performance disputes in (inter)national commercial agreements, and asset recovery and enforcement proceedings.
He also regularly assists clients with the drafting, negotiation and review of complex commercial agreements, incl. sales, service, distribution, and commercial agency agreements. His practice further includes guidance on product liability, indemnification for hidden defects, and unfair trade and market practices.
Nik gained in-house experience at DKV Belgium, a leading health insurance company in Belgium and part of the international Munich Re Group, where he assisted on regulatory compliance in the insurance sector and supported the drafting and negotiation of various commercial agreements.
He is also a regular speaker at legal seminars and conferences, including events organised by the Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC). His presentations have covered topics such as the Vienna Sales Convention, ESG and directors’ liability, and developments in (inter)national distribution law.
Nik is admitted to the Brussels Bar.
