Generic guide no longer applicable

Since 12 May, the Generic Guide: Working Safely During an Epidemic or Pandemic no longer applies. Indeed, it only remained applicable for 2 months after the lifting of the state of “epidemic emergency” (i.e. until 11 May 2022).

Consequently, employers are no longer required to follow the rules included in this Generic Guide (e.g. social distancing, face masks, plexiglass, etc.).

However, an employer could still decide to impose such measures as part of its well-being policy. This will require advice with the internal/external services for prevention and protection at work and consultation with the health and safety committee (trade union delegation or direct participation with the employees themselves). In such case, an employer will have to be able to argue why such measures are required be part of its well-being policy.

Keep it safe!
