Labour deal transposed into legislation: to do’s for HR

Yesterday, on 29 September 2022, the draft law on diverse employment relations was approved by the House of Representatives. 

With this so-called labour deal, the government aims to create more employment and to provide more flexibility for both employees and employers by 2030. 

The labour deal contains (mainly) a number of new or extended rights for employees. This implies that employers will have to draw up the necessary documents, adjust HR processes and conduct social consultations. 

Attached, we outline for each topic what this right or obligation entails, what the formalities are, when the regulation will enter into force and what employers must do in this context.
