Expertise and experience
Karen has considerable experience in liability law and insurance litigation. Her broad expertise is in commercial law. Karen has particular experience in product liability and product recall in all industries (food, pharma, automotive), distribution law and unfair market practices.
Background
Karen completed her Law degree at the Free University of Brussels (Brussels, Belgium) in 2013 and received her LL.M in International Law from University of Virginia (Charlottesville, Virginia, U.S.A.) in 2014. She also obtained a postgraduate degree in Liability and Insurance law at the University of Antwerp (Antwerp, Belgium) in 2018. In the same year, she joined Lydian as an Associate and was promoted to Senior Associate in 2020. She was admitted to the Brussels Bar in 2014.
Publications and speaking engagements
Karen regularly speaks at internal and external seminars on commercial law, liability and insurance law. As of February 2023, Karen will be teaching assistant with respect to civil procedure at the Free University of Brussels (VUB).
