About Isabel Plets
Isabel Plets is Of Counsel of our Employment, Pensions & Benefits practice. She has considerable experience in Belgian and European individual and collective labour law.
Isabel’s practice focuses on data protection and privacy issues at work, such as the processing of HR related personal data (databases, software tools), the drafting of data protection and privacy policies, f.i. around cyber surveillance (including social media) and good conduct. She assists clients with their GDPR-compliance projects, especially for the processing of HR related personal data. She is DPO certified (DPO Institute).
She advises clients on all aspects of Health en HRM and assists them in drafting health related policies (such as re-integration employees in incapacity, absenteeism, alcohol and drugs, stress, harassment, …). She also has a particular experience in the employment in the public sector.
She is responsible for Knowledge Management in the Employment, Pensions & Benefits practice.
She is Lector at the University of Ghent, in the social law department. She regularly speaks at internal and external seminars on her practice and is a frequent publisher of contributions.
She is member of the Editorial board of the law review “Tijdschrift Privacy en Persoonsgegevens” (Review privacy and data protection).
Isabel is a member of the Brussels bar.
